I took my dog to Blue Pearl February 15th not know that would be the very last time I saw her. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis in early stages where with fluids and treatment she would of been okay. They saw that she needed immediate treatment but the only thing they were concerned about is collecting 10,000 dollars from me first!!!! 2000 a day for 5 days is what they said she would need. Then when i explained to them that I don't have that kind of disposable cash on me can we please set up a payment plan, I pay some up front, what are my options? The only other options she gave me was well you should put your dog to sleep!!!! They never did any test, no x-rays but yet they came to the conclusion that she needed to be put to sleep. My doggie never had a long chronic illness , she was only 10.5 years old, great hearing, teeth, ears, she was a mini schnauzer and pancreatitis is extremely common in schnauzers but treatable.

I told the doctor that she would be okay, the other hospital gave me medicine that would temporarily relieve any pain she was experiencing in addition make her quezy , sleepy. I explained that to the young inexperienced doctor over and over again.

She continued to convenience me that there was no hope I should put her to sleep. You want to believe that doctors know best but now I know doctors are many times wrong time and time again. Because when she went to inject the first needle in her arm filled with anesthesia my dog jumped up, immediately popped her head up like what the heck are you doing to me? I could tell by the doctors reaction this was not common for dog to do that!! Before I could tell her to stop she hurry up and put the other stuff in her that stopped her heart and she died!!!

I moved here for a good life, and we had finally had that. It was just me and my awesome dog Ceelie. She still had a some good years ahead. She never got a chance to enjoy the house I had just purchased with the fenced in back yard where she could play and be safe. I will never be able to get a paw handshake from her ever again. We will never be able to do the downward facing dog stretch every morning like we use to do. I will never be able to look into the happiest pretty brown eyes again. She was my dear best friend and because of Awful BLUE PEARL VET HOSPITAL my happiness' that I felt is gone!!! Ceelie had survived a pit-bull attack and for once in her life she deserved to be happy and this hospital robbed her and me of that!

Thank you so much for putting money before saving an animals life!!! And you should be ashamed of your selves for wanting me to pay you money to have my dogs ashes returned back to me after I had already paid to have her cremated! SHAME ON YOU!

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Bluepearl Veterinary Partners Cons: Blue pearl vet in clearwater the worst in northern america, Poor treatment of an old dog in distress.

Location: New Port Richey, Florida

They should have let you take some time to think of all of the information they gave you. Instead, they pushed you to do something that you just plain were not ready for. Therefore, I agree it was wrong of the clinic morally and ethically to make you decide that moment how to treat your dog.

Blue pearl is a utter rip off they wanted to charge me $8000 for surgery after paying $1400 for test that I found out later where not needed Ended up finding a much better rated vet who did same surgery for $2k and offered a payment plan

Going through the exact same thing with my poor girl Bluepearl wanted 7k for exploratory surgery after I paid $1400 for biopsy that they screwed up on and basically told them nothing now taking her to a much better rated vet and only expected to pay $2k with payment options. Bluepearl is all about the $$ had to return up there to get meds because I was $20 short on my $1400 bill and they refused to let me leave with meds and call payment in next day

What other hospital are you going to?

That is their MO. They are incompetent & kill your pets to try to cover their mistakes.

They did the same to my cat. I sued & won! Of course they won't pay but they are in for a surprise.

They not only killed Molly, they broke the law!!!!

Some day they will do this to someone who will take the law into their own hands & put a real stop to their money hungry murdering ways. Can't wait to see that in the news.

Same place/different State misdiagnosed, botched surgery and deliberately killed my dog to cover their tracks (about $15,000 in a few months that would have cost far less if done by a competent vet elsewhere and my dog would have thrived not been killed). Incompetent, negligent, disorganized control freaks rule this place and the blogs, pages, reviews (in between fake reviews likely written by their colleagues, family & friends & the negative ones they may pay to get removed) are there to prove it.

They have their own PR dept. with lawyers on retainer to handle their numerous legal matters. I was told by clients and a bp employee that a number of veterinarians have left bp that would not tolerate what they were being asked to do to patients and clients. Newly graduated interns inappropriately examine & monitor your animals most of the time.

bp has the worst reputation & they changed their name (to bluepearl LLC nationwide from their misleading "Specialist" name) and supposedly now the Banfield chain is buying them out which means they will stoop even lower than they are if that's possible in terms of care. When they've committed negligence, they will attempt to have the animal put to death or the animal mysteriously dies to cover their tracks. Medical records suddenly disappear and/or are "amended" (i.e. falsified) and they love to play the blame game attacking the victim (the animals and their people).

They are corporate veterinary medicine at its worst and are heartless. If you have not done so already, get a complete copy of all your dog's medical records, labs, films etc.

and file a complaint with your local State Board within the statute of limitations. Most important is to keep telling your story to warn others about this kill factory and not permit them to throw money at you to silence you from telling the truth about them.

nothing is life is free these are your pets to do with as you see fit. If you think vets charge to much you should see what human doctors charge when you don't have insurance.

I work at a vet and am so tired of hearing how expensive we are and how we only care about money.

no I care about keeping a roof over my kids head and feeding them and my pets and for this I need a paycheck and so I work and don't expect things given to me but a pay raise yearly would be nice so we have to charge you money to make money to pay employees so they can take care of their families. If you don't like it then how about you go without a paycheck and give everything away for free where you work

She isn't just talking about the cost....she's talking about the incompetence of the doctors! There are plenty out there that are completely incompetent!!!

Like a bad vet that doesn't listen, it appears that you didn't bother to read this person's terrible experience or the countless other reviews on line about this horrible vet chain. Like many, this person spent money and a lot of it.

This site is not about you, nor is it a venue you for your own frustrations and your abusive tossing of insults to a grieving person who is trying to warn others. No one here has asked you to work for free but again this is not about you. Charging clients astronomical sums of money (routine mark ups by vets, especially corporate vet chains like the one that is the subject of this thread) are only one part of this serious issue. We spent over $20,000 in less than a year at this incompetent, negligent, vet chain.

They committed numerous, heinous violations and made gross errors and because of those medical mistakes, my pet was cruelly taken too. Something that would not have happened if we had gone elsewhere. So stop your whining like so many vets and techs tend to do and stop supporting some of the terrible veterinarians that exist all over the map and the many that are in it for the big bucks just like many human doctors are -- except if a kid or human is harmed or killed, there is some legal recourse as they have rights. If you're tired of hearing some clients complain about high prices, try dealing with vets who have killed your pets, falsified medical records and lied through their rotten teeth about it.

Get another job if it troubles you so much to work in the field, it's not like they pay you much regardless of how much $$$ they rake in. You've not a shred of respect for people who have had these terrible experiences and instead of stalking them on websites that expose these incompetent, money interested vets that we suspect you may work for, how about you worry about your own pediatrician and pray to God what has happened to people like us doesn't happen to you and your children.

We're sick of whiny, cry baby vets. Now run along.
